Year of First Issue: Never Issued (Specimen)*
Governing Body: Provisional Government*
The 250 Ruble banknote above that was never issued into circulation was designed by the American Bank Note Company which was headquartered in New York at the time. This banknote was supposed to be another denomination that accompanied the 25 Ruble and 100 Ruble banknotes of 1918, which were briefly circulated. However, the overthrow of the Provisional Government in the October Revolution discussed below prevented the issue of the 250 Ruble note and the design became a Specimen of the American Bank Note Company that is very rare.
